Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Sacrifices Denuvo at the Altar of Performance

The latest PC patch for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has just dropped, and one of its key features is that it’s getting rid of controversial DRM Denuvo. This move is part of developer Respawn’s bid to improve performance for the critically acclaimed single player action title.

As a certain Republic Chancellor would say, this is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. While the game did indeed score highly when it comes to professional reviews, Steam user review scores are a lot more mixed, not because of perceived gameplay problems, but simply because since its launch back in April 2023, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor hasn’t really performed very well on anything but the top end machines (and even those sometimes got to chug along and stutter randomly). Hopefully this latest patch will improve things so more people can enjoy the fruits of Respawn’s work.
