Oh Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, if there’s a developer I can always trust to make whatever my heart truly desires, it’s you. Hot off the widely acclaimed Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the beloved Japanese studio has just revealed Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a new action adventure title starring none other than Goro Majima and set to launch on February 28, 2025.
And if you thought the whole pirate theme was just to match the Mad Dog of Shimano’s eyepatch you couldn’t be more wrong, as RGG Studio are going all in, with old school Age of Sail pirate ships, boarding actions, and even a new fighting style aptly named “Sea Dog”. I honestly have no clue how they can keep making high quality titles with this cadence, but you won’t see me complaining about it.
Preorders are already live (US$59.99 for the Standard Edition, and US$74.99 for the Digital Deluxe) so if a pirate-themed Yakuza adventure sounds like your kind of thing, you can already give Sega your hard earned cash. I wish they considered adding at least Valve’s recommended regional pricing for my region, but sadly it seems the publisher doesn’t really think selling their games in Latin America is a good idea.
