Final Fantasy XVI Comes to PC Next Month, Demo Available Now

Square Enix has just announced that the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI will be released on September 17, 2024.

The game is already available for preorder, with the Standard Edition coming in at US$49.99 and a Complete Edition retailing for US$69.99.

Surprisingly, a demo is also already up on Steam, letting players test the action RPG’s performance on their system. I’ve given it a short spin and while my machine isn’t anywhere close to the top of the line these days, I found that with DLSS Balanced enabled, I could get a fairly stable 60fps with most settings set to max and Motion Blur disabled on a Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb RAM and a 3070 (running at 1440p resolution). Keyboard and mouse controls are supported (and don’t seem to be badly implemented from my limited time with the demo).
